Wingate Avenue Community Centre Inc (WACC) was established in 1985 on a public housing estate in Ascot Vale which is home to approximately 1,700 residents. The centre is managed by a voluntary Committee of Management and employs over 50 staff and 50+ volunteers.
Wingate Avenue Community Centre acknowledges the traditional custodians of the country throughout Australia, and their connection to land, sea and sky.
We pay our respects to traditional custodian elders past, present and emerging, and extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
We acknowledge the Wurrundjeri people as traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. We acknowledge that the land on which we meet is a place of age old ceremonies of celebration, initiation and renewal, and that the Wurundjeri people’s living culture has a unique role in the life of this region.
